Celebrating World Book Day 2025

We’ve had an incredible day celebrating World Book Day! This year’s theme, ‘Read Your Way’, encouraged our students to explore the joy of reading for pleasure.
The school was buzzing with excitement as everyone immersed themselves in the magic of books. In the morning, the children arrived dressed to impress – a huge thank you to all the parents for their creativity and effort!
Throughout the day, we were surrounded by wizards, superheroes, pirates, knights, and even inflatable dinosaurs – not to mention the inspiring Oxford Dictionary!
We kicked off the festivities with a fantastic workshop hosted by the wonderful author Rachel Chivers-Khoo. The children were captivated as they discovered how she develops ideas for her stories and gained valuable advice on how to become an author themselves.
Classrooms were transformed into cosy reading corners where children could unwind with a book. The older students also enjoyed a drama workshop, bringing scenes from various works of literature to life. After lunch, the boys had the chance to pick a classroom and enjoy a story read by a member of staff. With so many great choices, it was hard to pick just one – from 'The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse' to 'Le Petit Prince', 'The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe', and 'The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy', there was something for everyone!
This is what makes our school community so special – students, parents, and staff working together to turn an ordinary Friday into something truly extraordinary!
