WOODLAND SCHOOL
At the heart of Christ Church Meadow lies our Woodland School, a large wood in the corner of our 11-acre playing fields next to the River Cherwell, an unparalleled rural idyll in the centre of Oxford.
Underneath the shady branches of the varied woodland, paths wind their way through the cow parsley which lead the children to the clearings where they learn about the natural world and the life of an English wood. There are bird boxes and homes for insects which the children look after. They also learn many outdoor crafts such as fire building and the woodland is used for art projects and other craft lessons.
'Nurturing, loving, slightly idiosyncratic, a school where boys can be themselves'
Good Schools Guide.
Our Nursery and Pre-Prep children use the Woodland School weekly. Woodland School and Bushcraft are offered to our Prep pupils as part of their Enrichment programme, and our wood also makes a wonderful backdrop to our annual summer outdoor play.
Our Registrar, Lisa Johnson, would be happy to provide guidance regarding the next steps for your child. You can contact her on telephone +44 (0)1865 242561 or email registrar@cccs.org.uk
