Our Year 1 Eco Warriors learn about recycling and how to reduce waste.
In between the Spring showers this week, Year 1 have been busily building ocean creatures.
They learnt all about the problem of plastic waste in the world's oceans and how to become Eco Warriors, reduce waste, and use their voices and hands to make a difference. Pupils created fabulous turtles following a discussion on how they can get tangled in plastic and consume plastic bags, making them very poorly.
Year 1 also designed their own sea creatures and scrap-modelled them from recyclable materials and plastic waste. Imaginations ran wild, with pupils building and decorating a plethora of creatures ranging from sea urchins, to electric eels, to jellyfish, giant crabs, and even whales.
